One in a Million Award recipient: Sevina Nanda

Where she’s multiplying good: Foster City, California

How she’s multiplying good: She is One in a Million. “March of last year, I donated 500 care packages. Each kit included a toothbrush, a mini tube of toothpaste, a small bar of soap, a mini bottle of shampoo, a mini bottle of conditioner, mini hairbrush, and 12 tampons or sanitary pads. All care packages were distributed through Project Homeless Connect, whose mission is "to connect San Franciscans experiencing homelessness with the care they need to move forward."

Understanding the immense scale of San Francisco's homelessness problem, my organization, SeviCares, has launched a campaign called "PERIOD." to heighten awareness of the challenges faced by homeless women and to raise funds to create much needed Feminine Hygiene Care Packages.

In the last two weeks of being launched, I have raised $1800 and have received over 700 feminine hygiene product donations. I am projected to donate 5,000 care packages to homeless women living on the streets of San Francisco by the end of September.”
